Welcome to Brixies Rescue Inc., where every animal is cherished and every voice matters. We are a proud Hispanic-owned animal rescue founded by Tricia Crystal Fabian and Jeffrey Fabian, two individuals whose hearts beat with compassion and understanding—for both animals and the unique stories that bind us all together.

Tricia’s journey began in the bustling streets of New York City, where she grew up in the foster care system. Experiencing the feeling of being lost and unloved, she formed a profound bond with animals that provided her comfort during the most challenging moments of her life. Surrounded by pitbulls and cats in her childhood home, she witnessed their pain and neglect, which ignited a fire in her—the promise to advocate for those who could not advocate for themselves. Tricia’s mission is to ensure that every animal in her care experiences the love and respect that she so deeply desired during her upbringing.

As parents to four diverse children, Tricia and Jeffrey foster an environment of love and acceptance at home. Their children are passionate about animals, eagerly joining in the rescue efforts and sharing in the joy of caring for animals in need. This commitment to inclusivity and compassion enriches our mission and reflects the values we strive to impart to the next generation.

In every foster home associated with Brixies, we celebrate diversity. Tricia is committed to teaching values of respect and acceptance, recognizing that each foster family brings their own rich tapestry of cultures, religions, and identities. We believe that love knows no bounds, and when it comes to adopting an animal, we never judge a book by its cover. Every pet has a story, a dream, and a capacity to love that deserves to be recognized.

Jeffrey stands alongside Tricia, bringing his own inspiring background to our mission. Growing up in a bilingual household, he played a pivotal role in communicating with his deaf brother, who faced unique challenges. Through this experience, Jeffrey developed an enduring compassion for those who feel misunderstood or marginalized. His family’s journey, marked by immigration from the Dominican Republic in search of a brighter future, instilled in him a deep respect for diversity and the importance of including everyone—especially those with disabilities—within our community.

At Brixies Rescue Inc., we also recognize the importance of mental health and the vital role that emotional support animals play in people’s lives. Tricia understands firsthand the struggles associated with mental health, and we are committed to advocating for those who face similar challenges. We believe that animals have an extraordinary ability to provide comfort and companionship, and we strive to connect emotional support animals with individuals who need them most.
